Rumor status: Low confidence. A frequently repeated GTA VI PC rumor began with comments made by Corsair Gaming CEO Andy Paul during the company’s February 2025 earnings call. Paul said his understanding was that GTA VI would arrive on consoles first and then reach PC in early 2026. That was never an announcement from Rockstar Games or Take-Two Interactive, and Corsair later clarified that the comment was speculation rather than official information.
The claim has continued to circulate because it came from the CEO of a major PC-hardware company, not an anonymous social-media account. But the important part is easy to miss: being adjacent to the PC market does not mean Corsair has access to Rockstar’s platform schedule.
As of this writing, Rockstar’s official GTA VI page lists a November 19, 2026 release date for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. It does not announce a PC version or a PC release window.
What Corsair’s CEO actually said
During Corsair’s fourth-quarter and full-year 2024 earnings call, Paul was discussing the expected health of the PC-gaming market. In that wider market conversation, he mentioned GTA VI as a potentially important release and said he understood it would come to consoles first, followed by PC in early 2026.
The original context matters. This was not a statement about a licensing deal, a confirmed publishing calendar, PC specifications, or a launch plan shared by Rockstar. It was an executive expressing an expectation while talking about demand for gaming hardware. The call itself was connected to Corsair’s February 2025 financial-results release, not to a GTA VI announcement.
At the time, the proposed timing was also awkward on its face. Rockstar had not announced a PC version, and an early-2026 PC release would have meant GTA VI arriving on computers unusually soon after its then-expected console launch. Once GTA VI’s console launch moved later, that early-2026 estimate became impossible regardless.
Corsair later said the comment was speculation
This is the detail that should stop the rumor from being presented as a leak. After the earnings-call comment gained attention, Corsair told IGN that Paul had been speaking generally about his expectations and that the statement was not official information from Corsair.
That clarification does not prove a particular PC schedule. It simply establishes what the original claim was not: insider confirmation from a company involved in publishing GTA VI.
A lot of rumor posts preserve the eye-catching “early 2026” line while dropping both the earnings-call context and Corsair’s follow-up. That turns an executive’s market guess into something it never was. In GTA reporting, that distinction is the whole ball game.
What Rockstar has officially confirmed
Rockstar has officially confirmed GTA VI for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, with its official site currently listing November 19, 2026. Rockstar has released trailers, screenshots, and story setup for Jason and Lucia, but it has not published a PC announcement, a PC store page, PC requirements, or a PC release date.
That absence should not be read as proof that GTA VI will never come to PC. Rockstar has a long history of bringing major Grand Theft Auto releases to PC after their console debuts. History can make a later PC release plausible; it cannot turn a guessed quarter into a confirmed window.
Take-Two’s public investor materials are useful for broad company outlook, but they are not a substitute for a Rockstar platform announcement. Until Rockstar or Take-Two specifically names PC and a release date, every precise GTA VI PC date circulating online remains unverified.
Why this rumor keeps returning
There are a few understandable reasons the claim has staying power:
- The speaker was identifiable. A named executive sounds more authoritative than a faceless “insider,” even when the executive is not speaking for Rockstar.
- PC players want a planning date. Hardware upgrades, storage, launch-day streaming, and multiplayer communities all depend on timing.
- Rockstar’s PC history leaves a genuine information gap. Players know a later PC version is possible, but no official timeframe fills that gap yet.
- Old clips travel farther than corrections. The original quote is short and dramatic. A later clarification is less exciting, so it is often omitted from reposts.
It is also worth being skeptical of posts that recycle the early-2026 line without acknowledging the current official console date. A release prediction that has already passed is not fresh evidence just because it has been reposted with a new thumbnail.
What a future PC launch could mean for modders and FiveM communities
For the SixMods community, a PC version is the platform question that matters most. Traditional single-player modding, graphics tools, custom vehicles, creator workflows, and any future multiplayer ecosystem all depend on Rockstar’s PC release and the technical environment that follows it.
But a PC launch alone would not automatically establish GTA VI mod support, FiveM compatibility, or permission to move GTA V resources forward. Rockstar and Cfx.re have not publicly confirmed a GTA VI FiveM product, official server tooling, or a migration path for existing FiveM scripts and assets.
Experienced server owners should therefore avoid scheduling a GTA VI server launch, commissioning major conversion work, or buying hardware solely around a rumor date. A better approach is to keep GTA V and FiveM projects maintainable now: document dependencies, retain source files, track licenses, and build reusable development habits. Those steps remain useful whether GTA VI PC arrives quickly or after a longer gap.
Rumor credibility
Classification: Low confidence.
The Corsair claim had one point in its favor: it came from a real executive speaking publicly, not an anonymous account. However, there was no direct evidence attached to the statement, no corroborating report from Rockstar or Take-Two, and no official PC announcement. Most importantly, Corsair subsequently characterized the remark as speculation.
The specific early-2026 window is now plainly outdated because Rockstar’s officially listed console release date is November 19, 2026. That does not answer the larger PC question, but it does mean the old timeline should not be treated as a live roadmap.
For now, the responsible answer is simple: GTA VI on PC remains unannounced. Watch Rockstar’s official channels for platform news, and treat precise dates from hardware executives, retailer placeholders, and repost accounts as discussion material—not release planning.
