Rumor status: Low confidence. A May 2025 social-media claim from the account TheGhostOfHope suggested that Drake was “allegedly” involved with GTA VI in some capacity and could possibly have a dedicated in-game radio station. That is the full shape of the original report: a conditional claim about possible involvement, not a confirmation that a Drake station exists.
As of publication, Rockstar Games has not announced Drake’s involvement, named GTA VI’s radio stations, or released an official soundtrack lineup. The rumor is worth discussing because it has repeatedly been reposted in a much stronger form: “Drake is confirmed for GTA VI” or “GTA VI has a Drake radio station.” Neither statement is supported by Rockstar’s public information.
For players, soundtrack obsessives, and future creators planning GTA VI videos or roleplay experiences, the useful answer is simple: treat this as an interesting possibility, not a feature list item.
What the original GTA VI music claim said
The original claim came from TheGhostOfHope, an account best known for reporting on Call of Duty. In the May 2025 post, the account said Drake was allegedly involved with GTA VI “to some capacity” and raised the possibility of a radio station comparable to Frank Ocean’s blonded RADIO in GTA V.
Those qualifiers matter. The post did not identify a Rockstar employee, a music-industry source, a contract, a track list, a station name, or a release plan. It also did not say the account had listened to in-game music or seen a completed build.
That leaves several very different possibilities under one broad statement. A musician’s involvement could theoretically mean a licensed song, a voice appearance, promotional activity, a guest-curated playlist, or nothing at all if the report is wrong. It does not establish a full Drake-hosted station.
Why the rumor spread so easily
The comparison to GTA V is believable on its face. Rockstar has a long history of making radio central to Grand Theft Auto’s identity, and GTA V featured celebrity-linked stations and hosts. Frank Ocean’s blonded RADIO, for example, gave players a clear precedent for a recognizable artist having a more curated presence in the game.
GTA VI is also one of the few releases where a major artist collaboration would make immediate cultural sense. The official setting is Leonida, including a modern Vice City, and music is a major part of Rockstar’s trailer language and the wider GTA experience.
But plausible is not the same as corroborated. Rockstar using a song in marketing, licensing an artist’s track, or collaborating with an artist on a station are separate arrangements. One does not automatically prove the others.
What Rockstar has actually confirmed about GTA VI music
Rockstar’s official GTA VI materials have confirmed the game’s Leonida setting, protagonists Jason and Lucia, and a November 19, 2026 release date for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. The company’s official GTA VI page and trailers are the right place to check for confirmed game details.
They do not currently announce a Drake partnership, a Drake-led station, a station count, or a complete radio lineup. Trailer music should not be treated as a soundtrack confirmation either. Marketing music can be licensed for a trailer without indicating how, or whether, it will appear in the finished game.
Rockstar has also not publicly commented on the social-media report. Silence does not disprove it, but it cannot be used as evidence that negotiations or development work are happening.
Rumor credibility: low confidence
This claim belongs in the low-confidence category for a few straightforward reasons:
- One identifiable source: The report traces back to one social-media account rather than multiple independent outlets with direct evidence.
- No supporting material: No documentation, in-game capture, official artist statement, or independently verifiable music-industry reporting accompanied the claim.
- Conditional wording: The source framed a dedicated station as something that “could possibly” happen, not as a completed or confirmed arrangement.
- No official confirmation: Rockstar and Take-Two have not announced Drake’s participation or any GTA VI radio lineup.
- Limited subject-specific track record: An account may have a reputation in another game’s news cycle, but that does not automatically establish access to Rockstar’s music licensing plans.
There is no obvious contradiction in the idea itself. Rockstar could work with Drake, another major artist, or a wide range of curators. Still, the absence of evidence is particularly important with music rumors, where licensing discussions can change, expire, or never become public.
What a Drake station could mean if it were real
If Rockstar eventually confirms a guest-curated station, it could add a distinctive voice to GTA VI’s radio dial and provide a useful snapshot of the game’s contemporary setting. It could also influence how streamers approach copyright-sensitive broadcasts, since music settings and platform policies can matter just as much as the artist involved.
For modders and FiveM communities, it would be inspiration rather than a resource to copy. Server owners should not assume that music from a commercial GTA release can be reused in custom radio systems. Separate music rights, creator-platform rules, and server policies still apply. A popular official station would likely encourage more interest in original in-world stations, DJ tools, and licensed or creator-made audio experiences—but that is analysis, not a confirmed GTA VI plan.
The smarter move for creators today is to build audio projects around music they have permission to use, original voice work, and clearly documented credits. That approach is useful whether this rumor survives or disappears.
Watch for these signals instead of reposts
A credible upgrade to this story would require more than another aggregator repeating the same post. Look for an announcement from Rockstar, a statement from Drake or his representatives, named reporting from a reputable music or games outlet, or official GTA VI promotional material that explicitly identifies the collaboration.
Until then, avoid treating alleged station lists, edited concept art, and “leaked soundtrack” playlists as proof. GTA radio is a perfect target for convincing-looking fan mockups because players already expect a huge range of artists and stations.
