GTA VI PC Release Rumor: Why Corsair’s Early 2026 Estimate Was Never Confirmation

Claim: GTA VI would reportedly reach PC in early 2026, shortly after its then-expected console launch. The comment originated with Corsair Gaming CEO Andy Paul during the company’s February 2025 earnings call and was subsequently reported by outlets including Video Games Chronicle.

That claim is still unconfirmed, and the original timing is now plainly outdated. Rockstar Games currently lists GTA VI for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S on November 19, 2026; the official GTA VI page does not list PC as a platform. Corsair’s comment was not a Rockstar announcement, a published platform agreement, or evidence of a finished PC build.

The important part is not that a hardware executive thought a PC release was likely. Most longtime GTA players already expect one eventually. The important part is that an outside executive’s rough estimate has repeatedly been reposted as though it were a release plan. It wasn’t.

What Corsair’s CEO actually suggested

During Corsair’s Q4 2024 earnings discussion in February 2025, Paul described GTA VI as a major release for the PC hardware market. He said his understanding was that the game would arrive on consoles in fall 2025, followed by PC in early 2026.

At the time, Rockstar was targeting a 2025 console release. Since then, Rockstar has moved the console launch twice, first to May 2026 and later to November 19, 2026. That alone makes an “early 2026” PC estimate impossible as a forecast for the actual launch schedule.

More importantly, Paul did not identify a source for the estimate or say Corsair had received information from Rockstar, Take-Two Interactive, Sony, Microsoft, or a PC storefront. His wording, as reported, was an assessment of expected timing rather than a formal statement of knowledge.

Corsair’s investor materials remain available through its investor relations site, but neither Corsair nor Rockstar has published a GTA VI PC launch date as a result of that call.

What Rockstar has officially confirmed

Rockstar’s official position is much narrower. On the GTA VI website, the studio names PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S and gives a November 19, 2026 release date. PC is not named.

That omission does not prove GTA VI will never come to PC. Rockstar’s modern flagship games have historically reached PC on a different timetable from their initial console launches. But history is not an announcement, and it cannot tell us whether GTA VI’s eventual gap would be months, a year, longer, or something else entirely.

Take-Two’s public communications should be treated the same way: unless the publisher specifically lists a PC version and date, broad discussion of GTA VI’s commercial importance is not platform confirmation.

Why the comment keeps resurfacing

The Corsair quote sounds more concrete than it really is because it came from a public-company earnings call rather than an anonymous social-media account. That makes it a legitimate, attributable report—not a random fabricated screenshot—but attribution is not the same thing as authority.

There is also a sensible reason people paid attention. A huge Rockstar release can drive interest in gaming PCs, graphics cards, SSDs, RAM upgrades, capture gear, and peripherals. Corsair has obvious reason to discuss a potential PC launch with investors. That business context may make the company’s leadership well informed about market demand, but it does not establish that Corsair knew Rockstar’s internal shipping plans.

Once the console date changed, some reposts detached the PC prediction from its original 2025-console-launch assumption. That missing context turns an old estimate into a misleading “leak.”

Rumor credibility: low confidence as a current PC-date claim

Confidence level: Low confidence.

The source was identifiable and spoke publicly, which is better than an anonymous alleged insider. However, the claim lacks the things needed to treat a platform date seriously: no direct supporting evidence, no named Rockstar or Take-Two source, no corroborating announcement, and no PC listing on Rockstar’s official GTA VI page.

There is one additional problem: the proposed schedule was tied to a console window that no longer exists. A forecast that placed PC in early 2026 cannot be carried forward automatically after the console release moved to November 2026.

The fairest reading is simple: Corsair’s CEO appeared to expect a relatively quick PC version in February 2025. That was a market-facing opinion or second-hand understanding, not confirmation. It should not be used to set preorder expectations, plan a server launch, or promise an audience that a PC version is close.

What this means for PC players and the modding community

For GTA VI PC players, the practical advice is boring but useful: plan around official information only. Avoid sellers offering “PC beta access,” early-download keys, or unofficial preorders. A missing PC announcement creates exactly the kind of uncertainty scammers exploit.

For creators and FiveM communities, it is also too early to build assumptions into a roadmap. GTA VI modding access, permitted tools, multiplayer policies, dedicated-server possibilities, and compatibility with existing Cfx.re/FiveM workflows have not been confirmed for GTA VI. Even after a PC announcement, technical and policy details would still matter more than the date alone.

There is nothing wrong with preparing skills that transfer from GTA V and FiveM: cleaner resource structure, better documentation, optimized assets, version control, and a reliable testing process. Just keep preparation separate from claiming support exists.

This is speculative reporting and may not accurately represent current or future events, especially if Rockstar changes its platform plans. Until Rockstar or Take-Two names PC in an official announcement, a GTA VI PC release window remains an expectation—not a schedule.
